The banana is one of the Philippine’s most produces fruits. Then again the country isn’t the number one producer but it’s still one of the top products for export and local consumption. There are a lot of different kinds of bananas in the market like the ready to eat ones namely a lakatan or tondan. There are also the ones that need to be prepared or cooked. Here are just five local products derived from a number of banana fruits for the public consumption.

01) Banana Cue

Banana cue is a cool dish to eat as it can be sold on the streets. Making banana cue is easy but you need to use the right banana. It’s best to use plantains which are wide and stout bananas that aren’t ripe yet. To make one you need to use a whole lot of oil depending on how many you’re cooking for. Once the oil is heated, pour the bananas and let it fry for a couple of minutes. Once they’re near cooked, put a right amount of sugar on the bananas while frying. Once the sugar is caramelized then it’s cooked and ready to eat. Don’t forget to skewer 1 or 3 bananas on a stick then you’ve got your banana cue.
