Andok’s Corporation Story of Success

There are over 300 stores of Andok’s in different areas of the Philippines. They primarily sells roasted chicken or litson manok and has indeed became a household name. Andok’s proved to be the most loved and popular Filipino brand of roasted chicken that was considered a ‘homegrown legend’. But aside from it, they also offer fried chicken, roasted pork belly, pork barbeque, fried porkchop, pork sinigang and roasted bangus among the many others.

The corporation CEO and owner, Leonardo “Sandy” Javier Jr., that is also known as the “father of litson manok”, shared his successful story in his interview with ABS-CBN News. Javier also tasted disappointment and failure while starting the business sometime in 1985, just like many entrepreneur. He then have zero capital to launch the future corporation so he had no choice but to borrow 12 chickens. Despite the difficulties, he didn’t stop to pursue his passion. Javier said that his financial struggle pushed him more to work harder.

Javier once told ABS-CBN News, “Ang sikreto talaga diyan ay kung saan ka nanggaling, sa kahirapan. You have to get out of the difficulty in life kaya kailangan you have to set your target. Kailangan labanan mo ‘yung kahirapan.” He also advised aspiring entrepreneurs to not waste time and learn from their mistakes. Javier attributes the success of his business to his products’ distinct Pinoy taste and affordability. Above all the wealth his success brought to him and his family, Javier believes that his business has deeper purpose.

“Hindi ka pwedeng magsayang ng oras at kapag ikaw ay nagkamali, tayo ay tao lang nagkakamali, pero you just have to learn from your mistakes and keep going. Pag nanggaling ka sa wala, that will inspire you to move on. Nothing deserves better applause kung hindi ‘yung taong matupad ‘yung gusto niyang gawin sa buhay,” he added.
